Editorial Policy

Our publishing rule is simple: the confidence of the wording must not exceed the confidence of the evidence.

Source order

Current in-game tests and reproducible full-release footage.
Official Steam announcements, patch notes, Known Issues, and developer replies.
Repeated Steam Discussions, official community channels, and well-documented player reports.
Videos, Steam Guides, media, and competing guides used for cross-checking—not copied as final authority.

Evidence labels

Verified: supported by direct current evidence or an authoritative official statement.
Partial: the main behavior is supported, but a version, exception, workaround, or patch state remains open.
Unverified: a useful report or hypothesis that has not been reproduced or confirmed.
Outdated: evidence that applies to an older Demo, build, or superseded state.

Corrections and updates

Guide pages show a last-verified date and source links. A developer acknowledgement does not become “fixed” until a patch notice or current-build retest supports that conclusion. Dynamic numbers are dated rather than written as permanent facts.

Advertising and editorial independence

ReStory Help does not currently carry advertising. If monetization is added later, it will use Google AdSense only; the site does not plan to use affiliate links, sponsored fixes, or additional ad networks. Ads will be disclosed and kept separate from verification decisions. Ad placement will not turn an unverified claim into a recommended fix.
